What is the hardness of tin bronze?

Pure copper hardness: 35 degrees (Bolin's hardness tester)
5～7% tin bronze hardness: 50～60 degrees
9～11% tin bronze hardness: 70～80 degrees
The test force unit of 590HB is cattle, which is often misleading. And this value generally refers to the test force unit in the C83600 or CC491K national standard as cattle. When applied, multiply the coefficient by 0.102, and the Brinell hardness of this material is generally about 60.

The tin content of wrought tin bronze does not exceed 8%, and elements such as phosphorus, lead, and zinc are sometimes added. Phosphorus is a good deoxidizer and can also improve fluidity and wear resistance. Adding lead to tin bronze can improve machinability and wear resistance, and adding zinc can improve casting performance. This alloy has high mechanical properties, anti-wear properties and corrosion resistance, easy cutting processing, good brazing and welding properties, small shrinkage coefficient, and non-magnetic. Wire flame spraying and electric arc spraying can be used to prepare coatings such as bronze bushings, shaft sleeves, diamagnetic elements, etc. The size specifications are Ф1.6mm and Ф2.3mm. With high strength, corrosion resistance and excellent casting performance, it has been widely used in various industrial sectors for a long time.
